Produced by the OSS as a training film, the video below shows an example of German Small unit tactics. It describes how a nine man team of 6 rifle men armed with Mauser k98's and 3 man MG34 or MG42  team commanded by an Unteroffizier armed with a MP38 or MP40 would assault an allied position.
